Aoife Sweeney O’Connor is a performer, maker and writer from Donegal.
Their debut one-person absurdist theatre cabaret piece ‘An Evening with Wee Daniel’ won the inaugural Theatre Lovett award at the 2024 Fringe Awards, and was nominated for the Bewley’s Little Gem Award. The show is set to tour in 2025.
Aoife is the host and co-creator of the celebrated queer cabaret EGG, they made their award-winning Dublin Fringe debut in 2023 with 'EGG: The Proclamation of the Irish Republegg’ in the National Stadium.
A 2024 graduate of the Bow Street Academy Screen Acting Programme, Aoife made their feature film debut in the acclaimed independent comedy 'Bicycle Thieves: Pumped Up’, and recently voiced a character in the Galway Film Fleadh Best Animation winner ‘To Break a Circle’. They will feature in several short and feature-length film projects set to release in 2025.
They were chosen for the Transforming Stages programme with Outburst Arts Festival Belfast, and are a recipient of the Axis Assemble bursary with Axis Ballymun and the Arts Council Agility Award.
They are currently an Artist In Residence for Dublin Fringe Festival.
